The Who..."Wont Get Fooled Once again" Organ Audio

Does anyone know what (if whatever) effects were used on the organ sound on the Who song "Wont Get Fooled Again"??

Was that key part actually an organ or was a moog-type synth run through an effect?

Thanks,

I believe it was a Hammond A100 thru a filter sequencer ( not sure of the brand Ems), There is a documentary out nearly it.
The synths ocillators were not used, the filter input was fed by the hammond

Yep I saw that video where Pete is using a looping synth. A band I was in the 70's played that song for three iii years as a last song or an encore. Information technology is the king daddy of rock songs.
The double tracked scream was one of highlights of stone. Our keyboard role player used a B-iii through an former Audio-visual 270 with the amps tremelo for the result.
GT.

Was that central part really an organ or was a moog-blazon synth run through an effect?

Get any organ through a envelope filter and then through a tremolo and you will get there.

I did that with a Farfisa organ and it sounded cracking, simply not the same (didnt spend too much fourth dimension)

Nothing beats the 'Kids Are Allright' version
I scout that even 20 years later I still get chills up my spine

those guys were one of the last true great live bands
Daltry just kicks a$$ on that tune

pete is amazing, entwisle is incredible
Keith? What do you say about keith?
information technology'south controlled anarchy theory, he was amazing

Imagine if he was withal live the records they could have made

Watching Pete describe how he used the Hammond A100 with the ARP's sample and concord generator and filter depository financial institution to get that sound pretty much confirms what I had read years ago in Contemporary Keyboard Magazine.

The interesting thing about that KYBD function is that the timing of the sample and concur does not match the playing on the organ.
You lot tin can hear where he was changing fingering while the sample and hold was in the off position.
Information technology is kind of jicky, but it makes the role much less mechanical than if it was all done with something like a sequencer where everything was locked together in fourth dimension.

Now in 2009, with all the latest and greatest softsynths available, it's hard to believe that the "Wont Get Fooled Again" organ patch has not been successfully recreated.

Yep, I did scout the YOUTUBE video of someone using REASON. The sound is close except that he used a Flanger to get that deadening modulated "Swoosh" effect. Too me, using some blazon of Automobile-Wah issue would come closer to the original sound.

From what I get together, Pete did not apply whatsoever time-based processors as part of the organ sound. It sounds like Pete somehow modulated the "cutoff frequency" of whatever synth he was using to run the Lowery organ through.

I figure betwixt all the Moog and ARP softsynths that Arturia has to offer, is there a patch preset already programed that has recreated this organ patch?

Thanks,

Funny yous mention it...I recently heard an interview somewhere that Pete considered Ox equally the lead guitar player in the band.
